My Life as an Actor
I started working as a Stage Actor out of a pure love of the arts. I have always enjoyed performing and entertaining others, and In 2009 I performed in an amateur production of Oliver and been in love with performing arts ever since. Warm up routine
It is absolutely vital to warm up body and voice before singing, It stretches your vocal chords and helps clear your throat. Stretching your body helps relax your muscles.
Firstly I do a physical warm up which consists of stretching by doing exercises like lunges, triceps stretches, neck lateral stretches, neck extension and flexion stretches, gluteal and lumbar rotation stretches and shoulder stretches and also I massage the muscles in my face, cheeks and forehead. I imitate chewing gum, raise my eyebrows and open my throat with yawns.
Then I move on to the vocal warm up which include:
Scales
Arpeggios
Sirens
Tongue Twisters
Alliterative mouth and sound exercises
Numerical Scale Exercises.
Mock Audition
The scenario I chose was a job as a cruise ship entertainer.
The songs I chose are:
1. Here Comes The Sun. The Beatles. 1969
It was written by George Harrison, reflecting his relief at the arrival of spring and the temporary respite from their business affairs.
2. One Song Glory. RENT. 1996
This was written by Jonathan D Larson and performed by Adam Pascal (both on stage and in the movie) It touches on some rather taboo subjects.
